This vessel was the Malaga Sevilla route when it collided with the British frigate HMS Minden. The name "San Andrés" comes from this ship ballast carried inside. Presumably, the lead plates that made up the weight steadied the ship were cast in the foundry of San Andres de Malaga, owned by D. Manuel Heredia, the husband of one of the ship's crew.
